Admissions

Nursery:

If you would like to apply for a place in our Richmond Methodist School Nursery please complete and return the Nursery Parental Agreement Form which you can find below: you can do this electronically or request a paper copy from our school office. (Please note there are 2 forms -one for admissions prior to September 22 and one for admissions from September 22). Once we have your form we will acknowledge your application and add your child to our waiting list. We will add names in the order in which we have received the expression of interest. First Admission to School

Children are admitted to Richmond Methodist Primary School in the September before their 5th birthday. They can attend part-time initially but must be in full time education once they reach compulsory school age.  This is on 31 December, 31 March or 31 August following their fifth birthday- whichever comes first.  The deadline for the receipt of applications to the Local Authority for the following school year is normally mid -January. The Local Authority will write to parents / carers giving confirmation of the school place allocated in mid- April. Our school will receive a list of our new entrants at the same time and we will subsequently contact parents to coordinate transition arrangements for getting ready to start school.

Starting School Transition

Our Early Years Foundation Stage Team have a programme in place to help prepare the children for starting school.  This usually begins after Easter and includes a welcome meeting for parents / carers and contact with staff on several occasions prior to starting.
