Friends of Richmond Methodist School.(F.O.R.M.S.)

A Friends of School Association exists as a further valuable link between the school, the home and the community. All parents are automatically members. The School fully supports its activities, and is grateful for the money it raises to further the children’s studies. The Association also organises social events for parents and children and the support of all parents is welcomed. The constitution provides for an Annual General Meeting in September, when a committee is elected to oversee the activities for the year.

We are ALWAYS in need of helpers so if you are able to offer your help at any of our events or if you would like to receive the minutes from our meetings, please leave a note in the FORMS post-box in school reception or contact us via the link at the bottom of the page.

Details of the activities are circulated in regular newsletters and can also be found below.  We currently send out text reminders about forthcoming events but this incurs a cost for school so we would also like to keep in touch with you via ParentPay (which is free). Please make sure you activate your ParentPay account and register an email address even if you do not want to use the system for electronic payments.  We can send longer messages and letters via ParentPay!

Annual General Meeting

 When: Monday 9 th October

What time:  1800 hrs

Where: Richmond Methodist School Library

All at Friends of Richmond Methodist School (FORMS) hope that everyone is settled into school, and enjoying their new classes.

It is that time of year again when we are fast approaching our AGM and are looking for some volunteers to come along and join us within the group,  due to children leaving last year and going up to secondary school,  this also means that we lost some parents who helped us within FORMS,  and to run an efficient and balanced ship we need some new faces to join us.......  can you help at all,  then please come along.

During the AGM we will be looking to vote in the following positions to run an effective team also with addition help:

  1. Chairperson
  2. Vice Chairperson
  3. Treasurer
  4. Secretary/Communications

Some frequently asked questions:

Q,  I don’t know anyone in FORMS, will this be an issue?

  1. Absolutely not,  before joining FORMS, most current volunteers only knew maybe one person,  some didn’t know any and used it as an opportunity to meet new faces within the school

Q.  Do I have to attend all meetings and events?

A. Absolutely not, attending meetings helps us with volunteers and injecting new ideas to try but it is not essential.  If you are able to help at events then please let us know.  Helpers are always needed within our events.

Q. I work and am very busy, does this mean I can’t do it.

A, All of our current volunteers work, have families, children’s club to work around and have busy lifestyles but somehow find a way to spare us some of their time,  for which we are truly grateful.  If you feel you can help in anyway then please let us know.   Email or find us on FB – Richmond Methodist School PTA

Come along to see for yourself what we do to support our school and help with the things they have on their wishlist.

Next FORMS Meeting

RMS is always looking to provide the best possible learning environment it can for it's pupils. If an opportunity arises to purchase something that falls outside the school budget this will be proposed to the FORMS committee and members, who will vote whether or not to fund the expense or not. In most cases this is a yes! If you have any suggestions as to what FORMS might like to fund raise for in 2016/2017, please do get in contact
